What is the point of spelling Obama's name with a zero instead of an O?

Is this clever? How long did it take conservatives to think it up?

    Well, I noticed a lot of them came up with the same excuse and blamed it on yahoo filters rather than taking personal responsibility. The real reason they use the 0 instead of the O is because it is another way to insult the President.
