Why are people against voter ID laws?

It seems like it's common sense. Shouldn't people have to prove that they are the person they say they are before voting? Without voter ID laws, can't people just say they are someone and vote for them? Maybe I'm missing something though.

    1) Your constitutional right to vote cannot and shound not expire with your ID. Constitutional rights do not expire.

    2) When you vote you have to provide your name and address and swear on penalty of felonly purgury that you are authorized to vote and you are yourself. That should be enough.

    3) There is no problem of unauthorized people showing up at the polls so extra regulation is not needed. The american people should not be burdened with extra big government red tape.

Brainwashing from the liberal elite and media. You need an ID to get a driver's license, so why would you not need an ID to make decisions that will affect you and your fellow citizens?

No, people do not want to "suppress votes". We just want to make it as hard as possible to prevent voter fraud.

The only possible way one could argue against voter ID is if they need fraud to get elected. Liberal drones who preach the whole suppressed vote narrative are too dumb to see that fraud is very prevalent in this country. The only way you could disagree is if you were using voter fraud.

And to the idiots who say "people hardly ever get caught with voter fraud". Well that is because there is no way to tell who is voting. There is hardly any record of voter fraud because there is virtually no way to find it.

Because Voter ID Laws will prevent 101% to 200% of the vote in whatever District in whatever State like those that went for Obama during the previous election.

the less rules the extra helpful. There are rules against voter fraud already on the books. Voter identity rules may be undermined too. they do no longer inevitably avert fraud. At ultimate they characterize a velocity bump. Edit:States could make rules for in state elections, yet rules that influence federal elections are concern to extra scrutiny for fairness via federal courts. States don't have the final to unfairly decrease who can vote. Federal courts get the suited say on fairness and legality of voter identity rules extraordinarily for federal point elections.

Because the ones proposed are not honest. They are pretty clearly meant to allow only votes for party X instead of party Y.

I'll bet most of the people who want voter ID laws do NOT want a national ID card! (Mark of the Beast, you know.)

They want people to cheat the system. It is well known in Florida that snowbirds are double dipping. Voting in the states of their primary residence and their winter homes. You should have one government issued ID and have to vote in the same state that ID is issue from.

Edit: Places you need photo ID: To pick up a package at the post office, to view an apartment or model home, to test drive a car, to cash a check, to verify your identity for employment purposes, to visit grandma in the hospital or nursing home in some cases, to board an aircraft, to drive, to get a Sam's Club membership, to cash a check, to open a bank account, to buy cigarettes, some video games, adult films, alcohol, or spray paint, to buy some medications in some states, to purchase a gun, to provide identification to a law enforcement officer, to enter a nightclub that serves liquor, to sell scrap metal in some states, to enter into a pawn transaction, to make purchases exceeding 10,000 dollars in cash, to apply for a passport, marriage license or civil union, to open a business, to have a document notarized, to pick your child up from school, to buy hunting or fishing licenses, to enter private properties when applicable (like a movie studio or other business), or to take a drug test.

If you don't do any of the above activities more likely than not you live in a cave in the woods and do not use currency or transport yourself to any location beyond the cave.

I don't think so. We were against how they tried to railroad so many voters during an election season to make the grade.
