Can a two term president run for Vice President?

I say no, per the 12th Amendment: "..no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States" and a two-term President is Constitutionally ineligible per the 22nd Amendment.

I did not see anywhere which used the term "VICE PRESIDENT" It only states "President" But you will then raise the red flag of conflict of interest. If Hillary Clinton won the 2014 Presidency and wanted her Husband to be Vice president I don't see why he cant hold that office but there will be a huge cloud of a Conflict since he has already served 2 terms. I have nor has anyone every seen a 2 term President serve as vice but hey this is the U.S. anything can happen..I guess

It's a good question. I don't know many Presidents who would want to be VP after two terms as President, but since he/she would be ineligible to be President, I don't believe that person could run for VP. You can't have a VP who is not eligible to be President.

You also need to remember that until 1947 with the passage of the 22nd Amendment, there was no limit on how many terms a President could serve.

No, because the limits paced on the the VP is that if anything happens to the President the VP would become President, and the 22nd amendment to the constitution says no person can serve more than 2 terms.

Yes, a two term President can run for Vice President. Some of the people who have answered the question otherwise should learn how to read. The 22nd Amendment does not contain "term limits," it only contains "election limits." A two term President that had been already been elected twice could not be ELECTED President again, but that person could SUCCEED to the Presidency if that person was Vice President and President died or otherwise had to relinquish the Presidency.

Why? Because Constitutionally he or she cannot serve because should the would-be President die or become incapacitated, the would-be Vice President could not become President because of the Constitutional prohibition of serving a third term.

There has never been a president who has taken a third term as VP in history. The other way around has though. Under an executive order signed by the cabinet if the president becomes incapacitated the vp becomes president.

But the president has never been able to take a third term as someone's vp. They can become advisors to the president however. They are allowed to share advise.
