I've been dealing with computers since the early 80s. I've used Commodore 64, Packard Bell's first line available on DOS 5 and Windows 3.1, then all the other Windows versions. I have had some experience on building new computers. Generally after a barebone construction is done. I mostly play Warcraft and have a day job as a supervisor for a shipping company.

  • Does throwing your phone like in the movies disable it?

So in every movie and TV show, an actor is always seen throwing an iPhone, Android, or even a burner phone. And every time, the phone is disabled easily by the throw. Is it even possible?

If you watch every TV episode involving the heart, everyone points the heart to your left breast. Isn't the heart dead center?

  • What's with the outrageous weather this year?

Is it just me or is the bad weather in spring a signal for the 2012? I haven't seen DC having this bad of a weather forecast in a long while. Makes me believe we'll see 200 F temperatures by summer.

What do you all think? Will 2012 ring in the apocalypse with record heat waves to roasting human flesh? O.o

  • What's with rotten tomatoes and bad reviews?

Just about every new movie that comes out as of lately is given a terrible review by Rotten Tomatoes. But the movies come out awesome despite 30% rotten. Are they more depressed than we are?

  • My Car headlights are fogged. Will the inspectors get mad?

My car will be due for an inspection in July. And my headlights have seen better days. It's very foggy. Would the state inspector require new headlights? They're not cheap. $500 is the price for safety.

  • Is it humanly possible to get a blood pressure of 400 / 300?

Ok. I know it's a cartoon joke from Beavis and Butt-Head. On season 2, Blood Pressure episode, Beavis at age 15ish gets in a blood pressure machine and after fighting with it for several minutes, gets released from it by a pharmacist. The blood pressure machine reads "400/300" which was dangerously high for a boy his age. The highest recorded was 230 / 140 stage 4 high blood pressure.

Is it even humanly possible to reach that blood pressure?

  • How do I configure windows login (Fast Access) to load applications for all users?

I'm using Fast Access which is a facial login recognition from Logitech, that logs into Windows and using the same login for pretty much anything on Firefox and IE. Problem is, it does not load any applications while it's waiting to boot up the computer.

Is there a way to configure Windows 7 or Fast Access to boot up on the fly before login is done?

  • Does USPS accept addresses printed on to boxes?

Our company is forcing us to remove label shipping entirely and print addresses through a printer we have directly onto envelopes. Over 90% of our shipments are based on boxes for filling material. I've already tried printing directly onto boxes and to a degree it works despite it may not be recommended for the practice we have.

I can't find a straight answer on the United States Parcel Service site or forums but would they accept address information printed directly onto brown boxes?

  • 2005 PT Cruiser : Noise - A/C issue?

Last year I had to get the A/C flashed for a rumbling issue as it restarts consistently for some reason. During this cold season, it may be the A/C or heater. Instead of a rumble, it's wailing during a 10 minute trip to the parking lot to catch my bus. It's never wailed before but just started to do it and I can hear it 50 feet from my house door.

  • Add GPU Cooler and Replace CPU Fan over 60C?

I'm using a Q8200 processor with OEM CPU Fan and a Galaxy GeForce 9600 GT. The level temperatures for both are 45C, but they both cook up to 65C after running Grand Theft Auto IV for over an hour.

I know they have a Max of up to 90C, but should I cash in a hundred bucks and add a GPU cooler and replace the CPU Fan with a better one that fits my Mid-Tower ATX case?

  • ASUS Essentio CM5570-AP006 - Highest power supply?

Asus - Essentio Desktop with Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor

    Model: CM5570-AP006 | SKU: 9366599

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9366...

I have this computer I just purchased but I need to replace the video card and power supply as a 300W card and supply ain't good for GTA IV. I'm assuming this is a Micro ATX as the board is small in size and not sure what power supply and card wattages I should get.

Any advice on this? I'm thinking a 400W or 450W but not sure what the risk is of having Geek Squad replace the two lowbies.
