Why does my dog beg for food from the cat?

If the cat is eating wet food my dog will sit behind her and beg for food (she is not allowed to have cat food and I pick up the bowl after the cat is done)

Cat's noses are not as strong as dogs, so their food has more scent then dog food. Wet foods have an even stronger scent.

Because wet cat food smells stronger than wet dog food. Also, the dog wants to control the cat, and it thinks if it takes its food it's the supreme ruler of the pack.

The cat's food is tastier, has more flavour. It's stronger and could damage your dog's liver. It's not serious if it happens a couple of times, but try and not feed him that!

Source(s): Own a cat and a dog. Same happens to me.
