Is my dog jealous and if so what should I do?
Everytime I pet my 2 cats the dog gets up and chases them away. I do correct her when she does this and I don't pet her when she acts like this. She is a toy poodle mix and is usually very sweet to the 2 cats but for some reason chases them away if I pet them or if they come to me wanting attention. She doesn't bite or growl at them or even bark at them. The cats usually will assert themselves by swatting her with a fist full of claws which doesn't always work.

You can call it that. It is simply attention seeking. You are petting the cats which means the cats are getting your attention and not her. Therefore she has convinced herself if she chases away the cats you will give her attention.
How do you correct her? If you say *Bella, NO NO!* *Bella, BAD GIRL!* Or something along that line, you are giving her attention. She doesn't care whether it is negative or positive. You are paying attention to her.
You don't want to verbally chastise but you don't want to ignore this unacceptable behavior either. Not petting her is excellent and NOT verbalizing is the way to go.
Have a leash handy. When the cats come to you for affection and *Bella* starts acting out, calmly put a leash on her. No need to have a conversation. Just get up and put a leash on her. When she starts to chase the cats, use the leash as an extension of your body and pull her gently to you.
When you get her to you, use her obedience training. Tell her calmly to sit. And make sure she does it. Don't let her get up from that sit position. You do not need to praise her or pet her. When the cats come back to you, she will most likely try to give chase. Again, pull her gently, calmly and assertively towards you and tell her to sit again. ONE WORD.
Be consistent. This will work. Bella will stop chasing. Bella does not want to sit by you with no attention. She will figure it out.

That's just normal dog behavior they want the attention all the time. Try putting her in another room while you play with your cats so she won't get in the way :)
