pregnant canine in labor?
at 3:30 pm yesterday her temp was 98.5, 3 am this morning 98.4, 6 am 98.3. She has moved around with very little pacing, while lying down she will wimper at times, she is also panting and shivering at times. I am concerned something is wrong, around 10 am this morning she sat on her butt for 2 hrs without moving, but when i would approach her she would like my cheek or my hands, at 1 pm she got up and circled a couple times and then layed down. Can anyone help me? I am afraid something is wrong and all vets around here are closed at this time. Nearest emergency vet is far away. If anyone can let me know about how long it will take for her to deliver so I can sleep and quit stressing I would be all so greatful. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

Too bad if the nearest vet is far away. I guess you should stop wasting time with people who cannot see your dog and probably are not qualified to diagnose her. Get in your car!

stop scaring the girl... Obviously she is in labor and moving her around is the last u wanna do...
Dogs stay in labor for typically 8 to 48 hours. . Labor in dogs starts after 8-48 hours of the signs of labor. True labor in dogs is characterized by shaking due to pain caused by and straining to deliver. This condition can last for 6-24 followed by delivery of first puppy.
After delivery of first puppy, there can be resting periods that can be of maximum 2 hours during which will clean the puppy. Usually, 30-45 minutes of resting period is followed by delivery of second. This process is repeated until whole litter is born. only If dog continue to strain for more than 2 hours without delivery then get in action. Usually, it take 2-6 hours for delivery of complete litter.
Finally, placenta is excreted that can take a time of 15 minutes to 4 hours.

This is going on too long and if you don't phone that vets and see if they can take her then you could lose her.
Sounds like a c-section might be necessary.
Your vets should be on standby anyway when you knew she was nearing her time.
