So Congress is going to fund the Government but kill the people with Monsanto's GEF?

Don't you think we should know if our food has been modified?

Of course, we should know if our food is being modified!

Science is not what it used to be. It is now the property of corporations, which keep their findings secret as much as possible. This cuts down on competition as well as keeping the public from worrying about what is going on.

It is not so much that GMO food is likely to kill people directly - though you never know.

The fact that GMO foods cannot be bred naturally (either because it's impossible, or because it's illegal) means that farmers become dependent on Monsanto for seeds.

Engineering Bt toxins into a food crop will not make it toxic to people; but it will result in pest insects becoming resistant to the real Bt, which is a natural bacterium used by organic farmers to fight certain insects. It's the same as when doctors hand out antibiotics indiscriminately.

    Etc Etc Etc

Not to mention that we don't know WHAT genes they may be splicing into our food: pig genes maybe? Housefly genes? Human genes?

We haven't even had the chance to consider the ethical implications, let alone the practical results.
