Any advice on how to become a travel writer?
Writing has always been a passion for me, and I've always thought that travel writing would be a great thing to try. I'm just looking for some honest, constructive advice on how I might break into such a field. Tips on classes to take and other such things is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Actually,I also think that being a travel writer is very interesting,I like writing and also travel,so in my opinion,I think firstly we should travel a lot and then we can write down our travel feelings, and you can also visit other writer's travel blog, then you write combined the other writer's articles with yours,I usually visit the travel blogs such as nomadicmatt,cheaptravelplease,onestep4ward,2backpackers.And you can visit the website at nomadicsamuel.com/top100travelblogs,they are top 100 travel blogs.
Secondly,to be a travel writer also need to collect some good expression method, you need to accumulate them every day.
Hope you can find the best way to be a travel writer, good luck!

Be independently wealthy.
Because nobody pays unknowns to be travel writers. Travel writing is nearly an amateur pursuit. Who doesn't like to travel? Who wouldn't mind being paid for it? As a result, you find established authors willing to do such things just to get the free trip and a small check. They've sold their novel, they've sold short stories, or they've sold essays. People enjoyed their writing. That is how they get paid to be travel writers.
then you have all the tourists, who just don't want to go home and will write stuff for nearly nothing. Every semi-literate trust fund baby thinks they can write, when they're out of cash.
There is no class on "how to be a tourist", yet every university offers classes on how to write.

Research areas that you are interested in, find an area that gives you a buzz and something that you can passionately write about.
Read other books that travel writers have written and write down key notes on the techniques that they have used, so you can use them yourself,
Create song imagery and use strong describing techniques to make the reader feel like they are with you at that moment in time,
Hope this helps, if it did not then research it on YouTube for something, good luck :)

JS28,
Buy a few books on writing in general. Grammar, Points Of View, Short Stories, and dialogue is ver important. etc... Your bookstore will be able to show you what you need. This is how I got started long ago. Join a writers group too, and even form one with your friends who enjoy reading and writing. Also, read more and look at how the authors form their sentences and punctuations.
