Is North Korea a threat to the US? Is it to Alaska?
Well, I live in Alaska…

No actually, they're not.
North Korea tested a nuclear weapon a short while ago.
The United Nations punished North Korea for that by imposing trade sanctions.
The US is a member of the UN leadership, which is called the Security Council.
The US was instrumental in getting those sanctions passed.
So North Korea's threatening the US with war to scare American into using its influence to get those sanctions reduced or removed.
Plus some other stuff on North Korea's wish list of things it wants the UN to do.
It's all just North Korea counting on Americans to be too dumb to know this stuff and willing to give them whatever they want in exchange for North Korea calming down and behaving itself again.
There won't be a war for two very important reasons.
One is the UN Ceasefire that halted the Korean War of 1950-53.
That Ceasefire is still in effect from when the UN intervened to liberate South Korea from a North Korean invasion.
If North Korea breaks the ceasefire, it'll be right back at war again with all the UN countries (including the USA) that sent troops to defeat North Korea back in the 1950s.
There's also the fact that the US is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
NATO is the most powerful military alliance in the entirety of recorded human history.
It's treaty considers war against any NATO member to be war against the whole alliance.
There's currently 28 countries in NATO including the United States.
So that's even more countries North Korea would find itself at war with if it attacks.
North Korea has no desire to finish losing the Korean War.
Like I said, they're just trying to scam the US into getting North Korea what it wants.
Only it won't work because not everybody's ignorant of all these facts.
Now you know them too.

Yes it's a threat.Doesn't matter it'll try to hit Guam or South Korea. If not now it'll be soon reaching our backyards.Probably it's not reversible unless of course we take the chance now & destroy while giving a lesson or two to others like Iran & Russia.Maybe China too.Long ago we had the chance now it's getting late to do it.Our warning, patience, diplomacy don't work. The israelis keep saying that but nobody listen, instead we're in the way.Now is the time to carpet bomb, hit them wall to wall, from south of their borders to the north before they put up a single fight. Now is the time we have to send a message by destroying their reactors, statues and every lil hole they're hiding their things. This is not the time to worry about how many of them will perish or will die with hunger because of what we did or how many will take refuge elsewhere. If we don't do it,they will do it to us one day.And when that time comes it'll have more hands into it so we can suffer more.HIT'EM NOW.

A threat to the US in where they can reach their soil, yes. And the Taepodong-2 ballistic missile has the capability to reach Alaska. I however do not believe it will.
