Help with opening sentence for my story?

Would this be a suitable first sentence? My name is... I actually I don't have a name, but I remember one, when I was first created, somebody called me 0.2.

Should I write the number in words or keep it in digits? Also is it too much of a cliche?

Thanks in advanced to anyone who helps.

I would personally not start my story like that.

    I go by three rules:

    1. Don't start by a character waking up and looking into the mirror.

    2. Don't describe the weather.

    3. Don't have your character describing them self.

The beginning of a novel is something that needs to pry at your readers attention. You need to make them love your book and a beginning like that isn't going to work.

It's only worked for one author in my opinion and that was the following: James Patterson. Terrific writer.

But what you need to focus on is perhaps jump to a part in your novel?

Maybe have your character seated in a room and someone saying:

"0.2 in rehabilitation." I cringed at the thought. That tantalizing moment was the end of the beginning.

    Something like that.

Right now it is a little cliche...I would get so mad if I was reading that book, but please don't take that the wrong way!!! You could change it though so it had the same time of meaning:

Everyone has something that they don't know, right? Like people who don't know how to do trigonometry or people that don't know who the fifteenth president was. Well, the thing that I don't know is not so miniscule. It's kind of a bigger deal.

    I don't know my name.

    ---

If you don't like that fine, but if you do, take it; I don't care:) But if you want to keep your opening then keep the digits.

I hope this helped you:D xo

I personally can't stand that kind of opening, because it reads like someone at an alcoholics anonymous meeting about to declare that they're an alcoholic.

If it works for you that's fine, but it does sound a little cliché.
