Can creationists please stop?

Im a Catholic, born and raised. Went to catholic school all the way through, still go to church on weekends.

I hate how creationists make us out to be stupid. The Catholic Church accepts evolution as scientifically factual on the basis that God created the world and set evolution with the goal of creating humans (aka divinely inspired evolution). More recent leaders have preached understanding the difference between scientific fact (evolution) and religious/spiritual truths (God created the world)

However the religiously and scientificly uneducated morons pick and choose what they want from the bible. The creation story says the earth is flat and the sky is blue because there is a dome separating the world from water that goes on infinitely. You dont see people arguing for that.

LOL you believe evolution because a man who claims to speak for God said you could. . Jesus himself was a creationist and even spoke of Adam and Eve. Not evolutionary process. since I have researched alleged evolutionary process and since I believe Jesus is God. I'll side with God over your pope and be a creationist.

" The creation story says the earth is flat and the sky is blue because there is a dome separating the world from water that goes on infinitely."

Most Christians I think do take that figuratively. I quote you here because for this reason we see St Augustine in the 4th century writing that intelligent Christians read the Genesis story figuratively because even they knew the world was round back then. There is an interesting parallel to your concerns. In fact Augustine even says that the less intelligent Christians should not speak up about such issues because they make Christians look bad. If it's a clearly accepted fact that the world is round yet some Christians are arguing for a flat earth based on the bible it is no wonder they are mocked.

However, concerning evolution I welcome credible challenges to the theory. Much of it is still theoretical. We still have much to learn before we can say we know it all. And I think many people may be psychologically opposed to it and use religion as an excuse. Or they don't really understand how God could play a role in the process and see it as only an atheistic theory. There are however many Christian biologists.

The Catholic Church does not oppose the Idea that God may have used an Evolutionary method to create us. However, Darwins theory of natural selection is seen as a problem because it involves death as the major agent of change in a purposeless and random endeavor. The Catholic view would be that we were created with God's purpose in mind. So it wasn't purely random.

An interesting theory I once heard to get around that was the idea that God is like a very intelligent pool player who knows the law of the bounce like a pool shark who can bounce the balls to the desired location. Thus in this scenario God purposely and intelligently sets things in motion knowing what the end result would be. To us it would seem random with balls going everywhere, but in the end all the balls would end up in the pockets as planned.

I can't help it if your last pope was scientifically illiterate and that you are so stupid you accept the opinion of a scientifically illiterate dolt..

    You continue with more accusations:

The creation story says the earth is flat and the sky is blue because there is a dome separating the world from water that goes on infinitely. You dont see people arguing for that.

15 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer.

Nonsense, we don't argue for that because that is not what the Scripture says... You are interpolating your own notions on to the scripture rather than reading what is actually says.

The creation story actually infers the earth is a sphere, if it were not you do you separate the light from the darkness? DUH

The creation account does not indicate the sky is blue or why it is blue.. Read the text in light of modern science.

Genesi 1:2 And the earth became without from and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. and the spirit of God moved across the face of the waters.

Darkness - why- The sun burnt out... What happens when as sun burns out? Astronomers have discovered when a sun burns out it releases as massive volume of water vapor..

The problem you find is from Genesis 1:6-8: The Hebrew word translated "Firmament" literally should be translated "expanse" (empty space)

    Here is youngs literal translation:

6 and God saith, ‘Let an expanse be in the midst of the waters, and let it be separating between waters and waters.’ 7 And God maketh the expanse, and it separateth between the waters which [are] under the expanse, and the waters which [are] above the expanse: and it is so. 8 And God calleth to the expanse ‘Heavens;’ and there is an evening, and there is a morning — day second.

The original language indicates God created a space separating the waters from the earth from the waters from above the earth (the water produced when the sun burn out). God was just putting the waters back where they belonged! No rigid dome, no water going on forever.. Just space between the earths native water and the water produced when the sun burnt out..

There is nothing to argue because there is no disagreement with science and the scriptures in this case, in fact science helps us have a better understanding what was going on - which is always the case with true science and the Bible.

If Creation is false and Evolution is true then how do you explain these Verses that say God created everything?

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:1

9and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ. Ephesians 3:9

16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16

11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things,

And by Your will they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:11

Or are you one of those Catholics who is drifting away from God and following the World? God created everything, everything you see was created by God. So why are you calling God a liar? All those who follow Evolution are blinded and cannot see the Truth. You may call yourself a Catholic but your Heart is not with God. Your Heart is cold and hard just like the Pharisees were when Jesus walked the Earth.

Thats cuz the bible doesnt say that. Second no we will not stop macroevolution is wrong and unbiblical. Day in genesis meant literal day.

Let me ask u which came first sin or death. If u believe evolution many deaths happened pre fall making God a liar.

Fact is bible is for a 6 literal day creation.

Go to creation.com they can explain.

"The idea that death was in creation before the Fall has major implications for the character of God. The same problem arises if one thinks that God used evolution to create. Evolution is a random and wasteful process that requires millions of ‘unfit’ organisms to die. Countless transitional forms would have arisen, only to fall as casualties in the great march ‘forward’. At some point, this allegedly ‘good’ God ordained a lottery of death that finally resulted in humans, and then God looked at His image-bearers, standing on top of layers upon layers of rocks filled with the remains of billions of dead things, and proclaimed His whole creation—along with the evidence of all the death and suffering that went into creating it—to be ‘very good’ (Genesis 1:31). So we can see that long ages don’t fit in the biblical view, whether or not someone believes in evolution along with it.

To summarize, the age of the earth was derived from the rock layers, which have fossils in them, which puts death, suffering and disease before the Fall. The Bible is clear that there was no death before Adam (Romans 5:12)."

Microevolution does not go against the Bible.

    However, 'Macroevolution' clearly does.

One example that the Darwinian view, and Genesis do not harmonize is :

God made man completely seperate from the land animals.

(Genesis 2:7) "Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

    Another example is :

The Genesis account clearly says that birds were created with sea creatures on day five while land animals were not created until day six. This is in direct opposition to the Darwinian view that birds evolved from land animals. The biblical account says that birds preceded land animals, the other view says exactly the opposite.

You take orders and direction from your man in Italy, that's fine by me, but I take orders and direction from my Man in Heaven Jesus Christ. HE is the Mediator, not the pope of the moment.

Jesus affirmed the 7 days of creation

Jesus affirmed marriage was between man and woman, specifically citing the first 2: Adam and Eve.

Jesus affirmed the existence of a literal Hell

Jesus affirmed that He is God, the Creator.

Jesus affirmed Jonah's big fish story as truth.

Where is your authority? Sinful man or Glorious perfect God?

And since you have no real way to back up your church opinions except to spew insults, heresy and hear-say, all I have to say to you is, Got Christ? Be blessed my brother.

First of all, if a person truly loves God with all their heart and do good deeds, they need not know sh@# about science. as far as God and evolution, as you stated it....not so. how does he create and let it evolve? that means he set it up and it could go either way. don't be so naive. the only evolution is the evolution of human thought or how satan infiltrates any attempt to look for God.
