Why are liberals still pretending to be counterculture?
You keep pointing out polls that indicate broad support for gay marriage, and gun control. What this means is that the culture has changed. You are no longer counter-culture you are culture. The very fact that you identify yourselves as part of the 99% implies that you are conformist.
You hold the executive branch, the senate, and most of the supreme court. The largest corporations (google, apple, facebook) are headed by liberals. You can no longer claim that you are sticking it to the man because you are the man.
You are now conformist, I am the rebel now b*tches.

The trouble with liberals is just that they know so much that isn't so.
The Liberal ideology is a theory , fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and which holds forth beliefs that have no basis in reality.
Criminals don't pay any attention to laws... If guns were ever banned than only the bad guys would have them..Criminals prefer unarmed victims!!
Having a gun will not help all the time but being defenseless will never help..
Calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.
Better to have a gun and not need it than to need it and not have it!!!
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens.

I never considered myself counterculture until I was a teenage goth who hated all government nowadays I am 24 years old I consider myself "mainstream" to a point but my politics are still leftist individualist anarchism... As a matter of fact the more I get older the more I cannot stand all governments

I don't consider myself liberal. I consider myself extremely communist.
I think all corporations should fire their ceos and send that money back to Africa where they stole it from and feed those hungry kids.
Those guys who own those companies are capitalists. They want to be the head and get richer and richer while I, the tail, gets poorer and poorer.
The new movement is not counterculturism, it's communism. We will shut down all corporations and give money back to our people back in Africa. You westerners stole our gold, diamond, and souls of the slaves.
Payback is coming, and it's gonna be a b*tch.
