Why do people in R&S seem so pidantic?
So many seem to focus not on the questions at hand but, rather on the questioners grammer or spelling or punctuation.

This is one of the more sneaky and dishonest forms of debate. No one learns anything or has a chance to express their views when the discussion becomes an argument over definitions. Some people may resort to this on purpose because they care more about winning the debate than anything else.
Source(s): Alinsky tactics, like what is described here: http://sleepless.blogs.com/george/2009/08/alinskys... Rule 3 is basically to blindside your opponent with arguments that are irrelevant and to waste time, shift the topic to something the opponent doesn't know very much about, and so on. - Anonymous8 years ago
I'll tell you the truth: I value the weight of an argument more than spelling and grammar, but if there are frequent misspellings and poor punctuation, I can't take it seriously.

It's hard to focus on the question if we don't know what the question is.
For example, just what is "pidantic"?

I can't help it. I keep trying to stop doing that, but so far I can't help it.
Matter of fact I just noticed you left the apostrophe off a possessive word. Damn, what is wrong with me, I need to stop.
