Why is it that the same republicans who are against background checks for gun purchases?

You apparently, have a problem with one why not the other as well?? Could if be one affects you the other doesn't?

back-round checks is and had been done for years now. l agree that they need to be more through and need to be done at guns shows etc. So why did not government do it years ago? what l am against is a national registry because at any time guns can be taken away to the point that the person in charge can declare himself or herself supreme ruler for life in this country. I would like for the states to control things to keep some kind of balance..

I am vehemently opposed to any further restrictions on our right to bear arms. What other right do we have where we have to prove our innocence BEFORE we exercise that right? We already have background checks, and I was dead set against Bush's trampling of our 4th Amendment. At the time, I was leading the charge that he should be impeached. But ppl were blowing me off then like they do now when I say obama needs to be impeached!

You want to talk about hypocrisy, it's you calling out Bush for something Obama is doing right now!!!!!!!! Throw in the drones for good measure, and all the monitoring systems he has put in just this year alone? Oh yes, I'm real upset what Bush did, NOT!

So by your logic, it's OK that Obama has renewed the Patriot Act and now seeks background checks on guns then.
