My mom doesn't let me leave the house a lot?

im 17, turn 18 this year and my mom doesn't like me going out at all. I'm sure the reason is my older brother was a rebel and got in trouble with the law but he's matured and owns his own business. Like today for example, I wanted to go play basketball and she said to mow my yard first, I did that and two hours later when I finished, she said no. I don't ask to go out much since I work, I only try to go out 2 or 3 times a week. and it's usually in the daytime around 4pm afterschool and she'll only give me an hour. I've never been in trouble and I remind her im not my brother but nothing. I don't ask to do anything else just go play bball. It makes me mad when my friends parents let them stay out till midnight...
