I need to know how to turn the lights on in the china cabinet I just inherited: American Signature West Indies?

No one knows. It is an American Signature West Indies Collection large china cabinet. It plugs into the wall and there are 3 lights in the top. I tried touching all of the metal hinges since my mom has a china cabinet that turns on that way. I went to the web site for the store and they said, basically, to contact who I bought it from. There isn't even a store for this in the state in which I live. I'm hoping someone here can help!

Thanks

Update:

There isn't a switch. The top of the thing requires a step ladder to get at. Also, when the movers brought it I didn't see anything on top of the cabinet.

Some higher end furniture wires this into the metal components of the cabinet, I just need to know which one.

Try feeling across the top of the cabinet. There may be a push button type switch mounted up there. Or you can trace the wiring and see what it is connected to.

The action of plugging in the cord attached to the cabinet may be all that is required to activate the lights. Investigate whether the bulbs are in the fixtures or missing, and consider replacing the bulbs to see if the problem is the three light bulbs or if there is a deeper electrical wiring issue.

Is the switch built into the cord. Mine is it is high end but not that brand.

YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR A SWITCH.....NOT a hinge.
