Buying a new car in your opinion does this sound good?
Ok so im browsing for used Altimas in the houston area. I am just looking online as of right now looking to purchase in mid may, and most are going for 15-18,000. My question is I am looking to put down around 7-8,000 is that a better idea vs paying the minimum down in the long run?
..and all the dealers I call will not really talk to me since I am not looking to purchase today.

Don’t buy from a dealer, you’ll pay thousands more! Start looking on AutoTrader and even Craigslist.

There is no reason to call dealers if you aren't in the market to buy a car this week. Everything you need to know about the car should be listed in the ad.
It is always a better idea to borrow as little money as necessary. Stay out of debt. By putting $8000 down you would only have to borrow $10,000. If you put the 20% minimum amount down you would have to borrow almost $15,000. 50% more debt is never a good thing.
