Do you think the owners of the West fertilizer plant will face murder charges?
They had 1320 times the legal amount of ammonium nitrate stored at their facility and no fire control sprinklers or flooding system as required by law. The explosion killed at least 14 people and injured about 200 others. Or will Governor Perry step in and declare them as heroes?
What I wrote is a fact and the only reason I could think of for anyone storing that much high explosive illegally might be to supply terrorists.

It's not likely, looking at precedents. Esso, BP, Shell and how many died in Bhopal due to Union Carbide? Not my fault, gov, they say while pocketing their performance bonuses and paying off local officials.

If the violations are as flagrant as you describe, Perry won't be able to do anything. If he tried he would be putting his own political future at risk. After what happened in Texas in 1947, involving ammonium nitrate, I can't understand why any factory owner would take chances. Over 500 people died that time. Some were simply vaporized with no remains ever found. The West factory owner has to know that history.

They will not be alone when they face the judge
They will be joined by the city fire inspector, the city building inspector, the fire chief, the county inspectors, and the insurance agents for the company, the city and the county.
All of them had to be working together to file all the permits, reports, and hazmat inspections that are required when chemicals like this are used.
I think in the end we will find that 2 or three people wore numerous "hats" and signed off on each others paperwork. - "just to be neighborly"
I suspect there will be some serious scrutiny of various bank accounts and "miscellaneous" cash withdrawals.

definite, and that they prob would be. regrettably, they'l take their organization bankrupt and keep away from paying the $tens of millions owed to all those ppL. Oh, and lots for the super, Capitalistic State of TX that has so a great deal reduced in size its government and shed certainly one of those good style of Socialistic rules that Tie Down Our super unfastened-organization companies!

If they face charges it would not be for murder but possibly negligent homicide or manslaughter. Murder has to be a deliberate, targeted planned act and this situation does not qualify. I do think they will be charged under applicable laws and destroyed by OSHA financially but I don't see murder charges.

If that statement is correct then I assume they will be prosecuted, if that is not the case and some form of rechargeable battery caused the explosion then it might be a different matter

Wow, if what you say is true that would be gross incompetence and potentially manslaughter. I've been curious as to what the cause would be attributed to. It is crazy to think fertilizer which is well known for its dangers could be so badly handled.

I presume the conspiracy theorists will answer this question with a bunk statement to your satisfaction and you will undoutablly issue one of them the best answer - so why bother.

You must be one of the plant workers to have that kind of information at hand. The investigators don't even know that much yet.
