No hurtful responses just someone who can relate?

Question

I am 26 and I am currently in college pursuing a degree in veterinary science. I hate it. I love animals but I am not so good in the science department and I have been failing some courses. I feel as though this is my last straw, alot of my friends are working in their respective careers and doing fine. Whereas I am home living with my parents and I cant help them the way I want to. I dont know what I would want to do with my life. Im just really depressed and I feel down on myself. Has anyone or is anyone going through this??? Thank you.

you arent alone. and many of the people you see out on their own will end up later needing help or parents. dont focus on where they are at, focus on you.

you can get tutoring in science, science majors always need a few dollars. and even if you cant do the science, you can still work with animals in some other way. most importantly remember that just as animals deserve nonjudgmental love, so do humans. you dont love a dog less if he is hungry. dont love yourself less just bc some of your friends have apartments.

Would it be reasonable/affordable to change your major to something you don't hate? I don't know how close you are to graduating..if you're close then you might just need to get tutoring and just stick it out. I'm in college and in my 30s...I like my major so far but I get depressed too because I wish I'd have finished college when I was younger (I started out in a major I ended up hating so I dropped out for a while). My younger friends are all working now and have more free time to enjoy life while I'm always doing homework or looking for ways to pay tuition lol.
