Is there anything good about Obamacare?

I may be uninformed (I don't watch TV except during football season,) but all I hear is people railing against it. If it's so bad how did it get pushed through?

I think it's a Godsend to those who need it.

So yeah, there's a lot of good about ObamaCare.

It's Nancy Pelosi's famous comment - "you have to pass it to see what's in it."

    http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/peter-roff/201...

If you don't qualify for medical insurance by paying for it on your own, through employment, or being a dependent on a family plan, or eligible for Medicaid, individuals will be required to purchase health insurance through a state exchange.

There will be four levels of coverage available: Bronze (pays 60%), Silver (pays 70%), Gold (pays 80%), and Platinum (pays 90%).

Your % of the premium will determined by the income/dependents on your 2012 tax return. If you DO NOT enroll, you will be penalized on your 2014 tax return. Your refund will be lower, or your balance due will be higher.

    The penalty (doubles) for 2015.

The exact premium amounts have not yet been announced, but many uninsured people will be in for a shock anyway - it will be an additional burden because they will have a new bill.

And since the computed base for the 2014 subsidy amount is from 2012 - the 2014 return will determine whether that is correct - and the taxpayer may be charged MORE in tax if the subsidy was too much, or get an additional refund if too low.

Most of the people railing against it don't know the first thing about it.

The thing people forget is that people get sick and injured. They are going to get sick and injured whether Obamacare exists or not. The thing is, would you rather pay for someone to go to a doc when they first get sick (Obamacare provides primary care), or wait until the sickness progresses into something more serious?

If someone is at risk for diabetes, would you rather they find out at an earlier age, so they can receive early treatment, diet advice, and that sort of thing, or wait until they start needing to have parts removed?

If someone get's cut, would you rather they go immediately to the ER, or wait until it gets infected, which could result in a hospital stay? Insurance would cover the ER.

It's a to cheaper to provide preventive care, rather than wait until the condition gets worse. When Romney said that anyone can go to an ER if they are sick, he's correct, but then they get a bill they won't ever be able to afford, and we all end up paying for it.

Obamacare is far from perfect, but it's a start in the right direction. Again, the care will always be needed, it's a matter of whether it's provided early on when it's cheap, or down the road when it's expensive.

Affordable healthcare due to insurance being provided to everyone. In the long run this will cause the cost of healthcare to drop, due to the fact that people will no longer be going to the emergency room for medical concerns and not being able to pay (btw, those have to be paid by someone...)

The U.S.A. should have had a better health care instead of the health care we have now

when you implement Obama care some people will benefit but the cost of health care is

going to go up for the average citizen.

unfortunately the middle class will have to bear the burden of increased taxes

Obama care is not free health care.

somebody is going to have to pay the price of this extended health care

If you are a medical lobbyist, a doctor, or work for the medical industry it is great otherwise it is bad for you and most of America. Putting millions more Americans on government healthcare would not reduce medical costs. Just think about it does that make any logical sense? More demand inflates prices further than they already are.

    Just a few good aspects:

    . Everyone will be insured

. People cannot freeload off of the Federal government regarding health-related bills

. Medical costs will go down long-term

. Healthcare quality will become better long-term

. Huge stimulus to the healthcare industry

Just off the top of my head. I'm no expert, but you could certainly ask elsewhere.

the theory is good, free healthcare to all, promotes equality, and so it is good

it costs a trillion dollars but does create jobs so there are a multitude of things good with it

ur prob listening to republicans who feel compelled to hate on it

it involved raising taxes, which is why some dont like
