Poll: Do you think parents should do anything they can to be in their child's life?
Should parents be willing to do anything? Be selfless, fight hard, try everything to be around their kids?
Does it make a difference if the child has grown up already?
(To state this another way - do you think that there is any realistic justification to not talk to your kids? To just forget about them, and want nothing to do with them, even if as adults?)

No. Don't force anything and be over-protective. That's when kids really drift away from there parents, when they're over-protective.
Parents should make risks for there kids obviously though. But you don't want to spend every minute with them.... but you do wanna spend time with them from a young age, and at an older age if you've succeeded when they were younger...
Take them go-karting, play some games with them... but don't be with them when they're at a movie with there friends.

Parents should do anything they can to be in a childs life if they seldom get the opportunity to do so. but along with with other people have similarly stated you dont want to over smother a child because to much of anything is never a good thing.

No, not really. People will eventually live in the society independently and will have to move on, creating their own families, realtionships and society. Nothing should be exaggerated.

Yes and no it does not, it could even help a lot that way they will be more mature and understand things better than a kid could.
