Are the Jews a Chosen People?
Or does the Old Testament only say that because it was written by Jews?

The whole "chosen people" thing is not understood well by non-Jews. It does not imply superiority, or that God loves Jews more than other people. All people are God's children.
It only (only!) means that Jews are obligated to a certain standard of behavior that is not imcumbent on the rest of humanity. There are many "sacred duties" that Jews must perform.
I read someone here that offered an analogy: if a mother entrusts one of her children to take out the trash every Tuesday, does that mean she loves that child more than her other children? No. She's just "chosen" that child for a certain duty.

No....not since the new testiment.
Salvation is for Jew & Gentiles
Ro 11:11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
Eph 3:6 This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus

The Jews are a chosen people, however they have been scattered and their blood dispersed through the world, allowing the blessings of Abraham to many.

They are no more chosen than anyone else. Judaism is just one of many religions.

Yes.
It is customary for the god to chose the ones who make it up as it's chosen people.
