NEED info on type/value/cost of repair to this ANTIQUE ARMOIRE *PIX included*?
My grandmother gave me this antique armoire that's been in our family for at least 2 generations. I let our roommate use it for his tv in his room when he moved in a couple years ago.I discovered it a year later after going in his room to find it destroyed. He spray painted it, broke off the doors, drew on it, completely trashed it, claiming a former roommate (my cousin) said it was his and gave it to him (a lie). He's moving out soon and he needs to PAY. But I have no idea how much it WAS worth before he trashed it. I don't have the heart to tell my grandmother what happened as she would be livid & devastated. The only markings I can find on it is a stamp on the upper back which reads "Made in Mexico". Idk what kind of wood it is, the manufacturer, age, etc. I was hoping someone could help me out. I'd like to charge him the value of it BEFORE he ruined it, or charge the cost of refurbishing it (whichever is more expensive). Please take a look at the pictures and let me know, I know nothing about this thing other than it's an antique and has been in the family for a long time.

You landed it and are responsible. He didn't steal it. It looks like its worth about $200-300. I say this because I have been looking at a lot of used furniture on the net and in consignment shops. It would cost more than its worth to repair it.
Never Loan out anything of value. It's hard to learn the hard way.
