What was the longest and most influential crusade?

I wanted to do my history course work on a single crusade or would it be better to it about all the crusades.

The First Crusade was the longest (a 2 year campaign after rendezvous and setting out from Constantinople) and the most influential,as it was the only Crusade that captured Jerusalem and it established the Christian Crusader states in the region.

The Third Crusade only lasted just over a year, the Crusading armies not actually arriving in the Holy Land until 1191.It was also a dismal failure in terms of achievements - permission for Christian pilgrims to visit Jerusalem was obtained and some coastal areas regained, but the Crusader states had to give up the important coastal city of Ascalon.
