When did we lower our standards?
We don't hold our government accountable. Clinton ran off to Canada to avoid military service. Neither Bush seemed very intellectual. Obama never seems aware of what's going. All of Washington is corrupt. And we just accept it. Why?

Little by little people began accepting changes to society by the gov. and they did nothing about it. They allowed prayer to be taken out of schools, they allow teachers to teach disrespect for parents, the country and law.
They accept any kind of PC crap and whine over every imagined offense. They allowed our morals to decay.

Bush's intellect was never a problem. The 3 trillion dollar war in which a million Iraqis died and 10,000 Americans (5000 contractors you never hear about.
But I digress...
We accept it because we are given two options and an entrenched media/political class which writes the rules. Removes competition in the primaries....
Amending the constitution would be a nice start. Abolish the electoral college, initiate proportional representation (5% minimum), make the senate actual representative, allow for some oversight/transparency in the executive branch.
However...the way the constitution is (and the religious dedication to every single clause in it) will never allow for any changes in this day and age.

I sometimes wonder if our government has been taken over by organized crime.
It would be the perfect "racket" for them.
Just think.........they could pour tax payer money into green energy businesses, allow them to fail, and collect billions.
$1.6 billion dollars in customer funds could disappear from an investment company like MF Global and the Attorney General could block any investigation.
It doesn't seem so far fetched.

It happened a little at a time. Each generation becomes more accustomed to changes. What we grow up with, we accept as normal.
At one time politicians rarely spoke of campaigns and money. It was in poor taste. Now they openly discuss it. They feel no shame in using their votes to manipulate situations rather than the best interest of the people they represent. People allow it to happen because it is just the natural order of things to them.

regardless of who the elite are
regardless of when they are or were
theyve never been that great as a rule
there have been exceptions in history
the big difference today is the spotlight of the 24 hr news cycle
and a healthy disrespect of everyone

Because we the people can not get our heads out of our âââââ long enough to take control of the government for the people,by the people. Most are not bright enough to know that elections are just voting for puppets that the banks ultimately control.

When we stopped spanking out kids and got the idea in the gays head that they should marry. People have lost morals and values that used to be very common.

The 4th branch of our government is supposed to be the media. We lost them during the 'I did not have sex with that women' stage. The media has sold our country out. we will forever be McDonald's employees.
