Read that article several days ago.
As a prepper, I am ready for that, as much as one can be.
But it is unlikely in most of USA.
In reality, who is around you (your neighbors and network) is more important than what "stuff' you have.

This is an outstanding article. Wish more knew of it. I'll be sending it out to as many as I can.
As far as antibiotics go, go to your local pet shops or farm supply stores. The very same antibiotics they sell for animals will work for us as well. Get "Life Straws" and make water purification systems from instructions on YouTube. Solar ovens are easy to make, and I have cooked everything from roasts, to beans, bread, and cakes...in a cardboard box...using only the sun.
I tried (back in 2005) to get my neighbors into prepping, but they treated me as if I had a disease. It hit me one day that if things do go bad, THESE FOLKS WILL BE AT MY DOOR. I have talked to those people again and told them that, "I realize I was getting carried away, and have donated all of my stored food and water to the food bank". They thought I made a "wise" choice. I hated to deceive them, but I will not, and cannot, support them when the SHTF.
Like they say, start YESTERDAY, and figure how much you will need for any length of time. My wife and I are set for two years right now, and I hope we never need it. Guns and ammo are also a huge part of our prepping.

That was a good article and I picked up a piece of advise I never considered and that was to have extra lighters and pocket knives for trade. Awesome Idea.
I am also making up generic first aid kits for trade. They include: Duct tape - 1001 and uses and can be used to hold a pressure dressing in place. Feminine napkins - they are sterile, come individually packaged and are made for soaking up blood. Crazy glue - Cyannoacrylate can be used as sutures if a bad cut has happened.

Great piece, I live in a very rural area and have connected with dozens of other prepper types in my area. I have a 2500 acre farm and have let those in town use a acre or 2 for their own garden. We have fuel, food for 5 years for our whole group, and just about anything we might need.

This was a well thought out article. I especially liked the "35 Excuses" part.
Passing this along to the administrator of PAA. I think he'll like it, too.
Thank you.
