Are there buses that run between Canada and the USA?

I need to get to the US for a couple weeks this summer, and I don't have a car, and a flight would likely be over my budget. In Canada, there are Greyhound buses that run between cities, but it's a Canadian company. Is there an American equivilant to Greyhound, and are there any such buses that cross the border?

Yes. Greyhound operates throughout North America. It services most major Canadian and US cities and various bus routines travel between US and Canadian cities.

Major crossings have specific lane/locations for passenger buses. The bus will stop, unload everyone, they'll clear customs and immigration, and everyone will get back on the bus.

There are buses that cross the border. The main crossing points are near Seattle/ Vancouver Windsor/Detroit, Niagara Falls (Toronto/Buffalo) and south of Montreal

Greyhound Canada is separate from Greyhound USA

Try using Greyhound .ca for the Canada part to a nearby US city. Then use greyhound.com for the US part. The two sites do not do cross border very well and the phone centre is in a place far away.

Greyhound isn't a Canadian company. It's headquartered in Dallas, TX and owned by a corporation registered in Scotland. Greyhound has service all across the US. Greyhound buses do cross the US-Canada border (as well as the US-Mexico border).

If you live between Windsor, ON and Quebec City, Megabus is another option. And if you live in Southwest Ontario, one of Windsor's city buses crosses the border to Detroit.
