I don't as a JFK Democrat and never will.

We have more than a hundred members of Congress, BEYOND Bernie, that are present or past members of either the Socialist Party of America, or the Democratic Socialists of America.
This is Socialism's last stand, and they know it.
This is socialism 101:
1) Vilify the rich.
2) Tax them.
3) As they try to leave the country, take their wealth.
4) When enough leave, nationalize the industry.
5) When people lose jobs, give them jobs in the government (state workers that eventually become state slaves, as there is no other jobs to be had).
6) Redefine "rich" to mean the next level down and continue the process.
7) Remove all inheritance so all wealth goes to the state.
8) When there are insufficient rich, attack a neighboring country to add to the empire and repeat the process.

The complacent way that fellow democrats have given up their ideals of free speech (even for Republicans), free expression (even for Tea Party-ers), freedom of religion (including for Christians) and freedom of the press (even for FOX news) is very disturbing.
They have traded them in for socialism, fed to them under the names of Liberalism and Progressive Politics, and they don't even realize they are being used.
I have, as an old-style democrat, been told:
1) That the party is not turning socialist.
2) That I am not a democrat because I don't support the (socialist) goals of the party.
3) That socialism isn't so bad.
4) That it was always socialist.
This all by fellow democrats.
I'm a democrat, not a socialist.
Our young democrats are in denial, or active in supporting a socialist agenda.
It makes them useful tools to socialism, ignorant of our party's history, and ignorant of how they are being used.

The left wing of the Democratic party hold many Socialist views. JFK was a conservative to moderate Democrat in today's terms. He cut taxes and stood up to the Communists in Cuba. Now that wing of Democrats hate tax cuts and think Communism is a good thing.

The two times that our American economy crashed was done under conservative Presidents, not a liberal President. There has never been a Socialist President in America.
I am a JFK supporter as well but there is no Socialist in the Democrat Party today, even though we do support a "social democracy" to help our needy, which is not even close to wanting a "democratic socialist" system in America, that you are referring to.

America got here because the conservatives policies, not Socialist policies or liberal policies. Conservatives gave everything to the rich and gave businesses tax cuts to outsource working Americans jobs causing American people to loose their medical, their pension and their homes. This is extreme conservatism...
The average CEO earns 2.5 million per year while the average worker earns $36,000 per year, this is greedy capitalism...

I have no idea. There are no socialist in the Democratic party, There IS a Socialist party, however, and most socialists, not surprisingly, belong to the Socialist Party. As to how we got here. We got here by 40 years of the failed conservative agenda introduced by Ronald Reagan
Deregulation: Leave corporations alone and they will always do what is best for the country - Didn't work. We found that people are even willing to destroy the corporation the work for in their quest for riches.
Trickle down - Give everything to the rich and they will let anything they don't want "trickle down" on us - Didn't work. We found out that there just isn't any money they don't want
Supply side economics - flood the market with cheap cr*p and the economy will thrive as people fill their shopping carts with cheap cr*p - Didn't work. We found that people without the jobs that were shipped to China to make that cheap cr*p couldn't even afford the cheapest of cr*p.
Now here's your chance to prove me wrong. Show one industry that anyone in the Democratic party has suggested nationalizing -- even Obamacare uses private for-profit providers.

Where is he a socialist, have you looked at the markets? Even real estate is going up again.
In all honesty things have changed since JFK, back then a doctors visit cost five dollars, now its more than a minimum wage worker makes in a week. There may actually be a practical need for government to run health insurance and save that layer of profits and bloated salaries that add to the costs of the advances in medicine that save lives, but cost pots of money. It not really socialism because we wouldn't be employing doctors and hospitals but its a more streamlined method of controlling costs. Tossing out a workable option because you don't like the idea of it won't be useful in the long run.
