Do y'think y'can hide behind way too much pride?!?

Well the Doctor is sayin’, “I fixed y’up good!!!”

with the talent that God endowed…

While the teacher says, “Taught ‘em all I know!!!”,

though they ought not be quite s'proud.

And the Lawyer says, “Man, I’m articulate…

gotcha off with a slap on the wrist!”;

wouldn’t, “Praise God, Who made me convincin’!”

be an interestin’ alternate twist?

And the preacher who claims he’s the link to God,

through whom we can find Loving Light;

better yet give me one who is ready to claim

that it’s God’s made it already right!

We all can take some credit, at times in our lives,

but it’s never right takin’ it all;

if you don’t recognize the true source when you’re up,

what on earth will y’do when y’fall?!?

    Ray, my friend, I am so glad to have the chance to read your poem. It was a long time I haven't heard from you and I hope you're sound and well. Your poem is what everyone has to hears. the true reason of actions. I am not a religious person at all but I like what you say pretty much. It is thought provoking.

    The only thing I take credit for is going to sleep at night, whether

    I wake up or not is not in my hands....,

    your poem has a good message, I know I have fallen many times

    and some hurt.

    I believe that it's alright to take pride in work well done, but it doesn't hurt not to thank God for the brain and the opportunities he endowed us with. Good poem with a message.

    Good poem and message Ray. In my thinkin Pride is like vanity, both are sins.

    At least my docs never made promises and when asked, just turned and walked away.

    I know what an who I am and God has already forgiven me I think.

    The proper word is likely"foolish pride".

    Fools others but not God.

    God will smite them.

    bye.

    Ray

    Very nice poem Ray and your last stanza hit the mark and rings true,

    always. Pride is man's folly, is like a proscenium between me (us)

    and God. How can one move closer to Christ (God) with all these

    walls we (I) have erected. There is a way...............thank you, and

    great job.

    btw: I deal with pride every day

    Survived a Level Four (4) Tornado last night, and was surrounded by 3

    tornadoes. Okay here thankfully, but south of here 7 died, and the

    two cities are devastated.

    I promise, there were many non-believers throwing up prayers just in case.

    Keep on going......
