I'm looking to buy a .45 and need some opinions?
I'm looking to buy 2 new .45's and was wondering opinions on which ones are best. I own a .40 and don't know too much about the realm of .45's. I want a compact for conceal carry and full size for home defense. I am planning on spending $600 on each. I do not care about the name as long as it's extremely reliable and accurate. I'm open to all suggestions so fire all opinions and please tell me a detailed reason you think the gun you're suggesting is superior. Any links would be appreciated as well. Thank you!

Buy a M&P .45 and a XDS or use the money for both to buy a 1911 from Colt, Kimber or Sig but preferably Kimber. If your not going to take the 1911 route then go with the M&P .45 its superior to all in it's class right next to Sig. I only suggest the XDS as second so you can switch it up and it's also a great carry gun.

I'm about the only person you'll find advising against a 1911. Nothing against it, but for the money there are better options. A 1911 for anything besides fun shooting is like buying a Ferrari for driving to work. I don't like Glocks for the same reason I don't personally like 1911's...the grip. But that's personal preference. I agree with previous sentiment, look at the Springfield XD line. But I also carry a fullsize pistol, I don't see the point in carrying a compact.

I would go with a Springfield XD-45 and an XDS-45. They should average about $600 or less. They are twice as good as a Glock and only cost a little more.

You won't gain much going from the 40 to the 45...IF....you have a 40 already...upgrade to the Glock 20 and 29.....

check out the XD and XDm. sprinfield also makes a XDs for conceal carry. i love mine, its better than a glock in my mind and although i still say i like a good 1911 I know my XD shoots every time.

i agree w/ the poster that said you were already well armed w/ a 40 cal.. i would recommend staying w/ that caliber & just getting a Glock 27 or something similar for concealed carry.
