I am getting my ear pierced again?

I am 13 and i'm from auckland. My friend and i planned to go and get our ear peirced again ( like another one a little bit above our first one) i have a few questions.

1: does it hurt more getting it pierced again? What does it feel like because i got mine years ago and i forgot what it felt like.

2: i got my first one using a gun, but people have been telling me its better with a needle. I am determined to get it with a gun again because it's very fast and i'm more confident with it. Is The gun really THAT bad?

3: if i don't like it, can i just not wear any earring and let it close?

4: Does my parents have to come with me? Or can my friend and i just get it by ourselves.

I would like to choose the best answer myself :)

Depends on the laws of your country over whether you can get it done without your parents, here in the UK though you have to be 16 to get piercings without a parent or guardian.

If in your country you have to be 16 to get them without a parent present and a piercing place was willing to do it when you're underage and don't have an adult then I would find another place because clearly they are not very reputable!

Your parents would also likely have to have ID with them to prove they are your parents.

Getting second earlobes feels no different to getting firsts.

I would get it done with the needle, the gun is not good even for earlobes. Gun also is more of a shock to your body than the needle. Also if you go to a tattoo/piercing place where they use the needle they will use the proper jewlerry type and metal which is best for healing. In places like Claires where they use the gun they offer all kinds of metals but many are not good for healing and you could have a reaction to the metal which will slow the healing. Piercings with needles are also very fast. Also in proper piercing places they do it in a properly clean environment and not a shop floor with people around like the type of places that use guns, they also give you the right cleaning instructions unlike the likes of Claires.

You can take it out but not if it is infected because it is bad to remove the jewlerry if the piercing is infected.

    1. no,it shouldn't hurt more. Long as you're getting in just above your first ones (on the lobes) not higher (on the cartilage), it's shouldn't even hurt much at all!

    2. Do. No. Use. A. Gun. I swear to god, people, stop using guns! First off, it'll hurt. Not just a wee bit more, A LOT more using a gun. I used a gun on my cartilage piercings the first time and it smashed my cartilage, so it took ten times the amount of time to heal and I still can't wear it for longer than a day because a bump shows up and it hurts so bad. I got that piercing almost three years ago!!

Get them to use a needle. Way less painful. Way less chance of infection.

    3. Of course. That's the great thing about earings, take them out and they're almost completely gone! But, bare in mind, if you think you're just going to take it out, don't get it.

    4. You're only 13. So, you're probably going to need a adult. In fact, I'm sure you're going to need an adult. I had to have one to sign my "waiver" when I was 15 and I looked way older than 15 so you'll need someone.

    1. Not much more than your first lobes just a quick pinch.

    2. NO GUNS! I can not reiterate this enough! They're horrible in every way and disgustingly unsanitary.

    3. Yup.

    4. Your parents most likely have to come with you since most piercing places require your parent to sign off unless you're either 16 or 18 depending on the piercing and the shop.

It depends on where you get pierced. If you're just going for second lobes, it shouldn't hurt more than the first set.

If you don't consider using dirty tools that are impossible to sanitize and can expose you to blood born diseases all while shoving a blunt piece of crappy metal through your flesh to be bad, then I suppose getting it done with a gun would be okay.

Of course you can just let it heal, why wouldn't you? It would just seem like a waste of money to get a piercing if you're unsure of how you'll feel about it soon afterwards.

Your parents have to go with you. No respectable place would ever pierce a minor without parental consent. Even the morons using guns won't touch their nasty tools to your ears without a parent signature.

1.Your gonna feel a soreness and a burning feeling for a little while.

    2. The gun is the best way to go because it's fast one click and it's done.

    3. If you don't like it remove the ear ring and it will close in a few days

    4. I dont know what the age limit is there but you may need an adult there with you.

Hope this is helpful to you.

    1. No, it hurts less cuz you think it is gunna be bad then its not so much :)

    2. Both are valid ways to get it done and both are fast. The gun hurts a pinch more, but it is a tiny bit faster.

    3. Yes, ofcourse! You still will need to clean the hole as it closes up to make sure no bacteria gets inside and causes an infection that is closed off in the hole.

    4. As for permissions, I'm not sure about the laws where you live. Its best to bring a parent just in case. In us, we have to have parents come with us until we are 18.

Go with parents they could make sure you don't go to a bad place and get infected. Use gun if you don't want pain. I have my earrings out of my ear for a year and it hasn't closed.

Make sure the gun is sanitised

    It would hurt the same

I think you might need someone 18 or over to come with you
