Did it help our infrasturcture when Ds passed a $1 trillion stimulus which O'Bama promised would be used?

for infrustructure but instead was used to prop up the unions?

Update:

@ Alkaline...Funny you should mention that because O'Bama now says there is no such thing as a shovel ready project!

Update 2:

@ Chewy Ivan 2... No that was TARP which Bush got passed.

Update 3:

@ins054... I live in Washington, a blue state. The bridge that collapsed was one that was supposed to get stimulus funds to upgrade. Thank goodness the state of Washington inspects and repairs all bridges every 2 years. The birdge collapsed because a truck that was to tall hit a support girder which collapsed the bridge.

Here is the crux of the matter:

    Republicans filibuster Obama infrastructure bill

Millions of Americans will cross ‘structurally deficient’ bridges this weekend

So why wasn’t this bridge fixed anyway?

Now tell us about the infrastructure in your state. LOL

Now people, remember when this stimulus was to be somewhat for shovel ready jobs which would be infrastructure and then after even we found out it paid some union workers big bucks to dig a hole then fill it back up it was found out even by Obama's admission that there were NO shovel ready jobs.

Now, it does look like we do have some shovel ready jobs to be had in Washington but I am sure those funds will be used to pay for Michelle's extended stay in Martha's Vineyard for the summer with her entourage.

That stimulus was given to his buddies for pay back to get elected and also 90 Billion in green energy failures which in turn made full circle back to his next campaign. Everything he does is for a reason to make himself more powerful and richer and you minions just eat cake......

The alternate offers made have been already in the works and would were completed even supposing the trip had no longer been made. Obama made this trip to announce them and get publicity for his failed administration. Generally nothing new he desired to achieve was once successful. Obama and his administration are failures; expectantly his socialist followers will recognize this and put up a greater candidate in the 2012 elections. Oh, Michelle desired to move shopping in Asia and Europe as well.

    It wasn't 1T.

No ALL of it was for infrastructure. Some saved the jobs of teachers, cops, firefighters. The Republicans got their hands on it and stripped out a LOT of the stimulus stuff and then added a lot of expensive stuff that didn't stimulate the economy before refusing to vote for it.

Uh, it wasn't spent "to prop up the unions" -- whoever told you that was lying to you.

??? Uh, no one thought it would fix EVERYTHING. That would take a lot more than was spent.

  • Are you referring to Republican Senator Olympia Snowe's stimulus with 40% tax rebates to fully employed workers which nevertheless avoided Hoover's collapse and 25% unemployment, saving 20 million jobs? http://www.pitbulleconomics.com/stimulus.pdf

Most of the stimulus bill was tax cuts and income supplements. Very little went to infrastructure.

No. Democrats passed $780 billion dollar stimulus which Obama said would be used to prop up big banks and stop them going bankrupt and dragging most of the economy down with them.

I like how you spelled "infrastructure" two different ways, neither of which was right, but still think you know enough to rewrite history for partisan spin. What chutzpah!

Edit: And the stimulus that Democrats passed was called TARP II. The big banks passed around so much bad debt that the first round of stimulus under Bush wasn't enough.

That's the problem, the money never goes where it should, then they DEMAND more when they didn't even use it properly in the first place.

What happened to "shovel ready", I still hear liberals complaining about infrastructure, well that's what "shovel ready" was SUPPOSED to be.

    LOL

no link, no accuracy, no truth. The fact is that unions got slammed with the stimulus. They were forced to re-negotiate contracts that were far inferior to what they had before.
