Hi, first thing is first you should get a Popsicle stick (or pencil, pen, butter knife, what ever you can find) and make a split by putting it against her finger a wrapping it in gauze. You should keep applying Ice and give her pain meds (Tylenol is a good choice). I would give it about 3 days, making sure the swelling and pain stays under control. If it doesn't seem to be getting better take her to the doctor. With a finger injury it is not always necessary to run to the doctor unless she is loosing a lot of blood or in unbearable pain, if she is take her to the hospital ASAP. I hope all goes well for you two:)

Her finger could have a possible fracture or break. The right thing to do would be taking her to the nearest hospital to get it x-ray.
