Rob, this is a rhetorical question denoting the confusion of single words that mean several different things and the misuse of context as Zaphod has pointed out.
Zaphod, The misappropriation was intended, and you are also correct, beyond fanciful imagination; However, if you are going too be a Philosopher, you will need too acquire one. Thumbs up on your answer.
Nutural: Deep and insightful; and also brings up the question does Oxygen have a perceived Smell? But I would think that the first thought that would come to one’s mind would be Roses; because of the premise of the ever popular saying of “taking the time to stop and smell the Roses”, such as Phoenix has pointed out. I could come back at you with all kind of derogatory observations as well; but I will refrain. You may have a very vivid imitation; however, it seems that you don’t want too exorcise here, just vent some mindless negativity. If I meant “you” as a reflection of the you, form your perspective, I would have said “I”. Seems that if I fell, I would be landing on you.

Well Prof. Ron; after reading your critiques, seems that I would lean toward Roses also. So, in a sense that would give a slight perception of control.
Jes, pay No Attention to the man behind the Green Curtin. You did fine; however, I am under the impression that every query in this room is an Exam too exorcise your Brain.
I am on a research project dealing with this very notion, that I will not expand on at this time.
I see that you are using a multiple meaning word purposely, out of context, in order to throw a curveball and see if someone can catch it. I had a few Profs try this on me, which didn’t work.
If Time were of the essence, I would be smelling Burning Rubber and Carbon Monoxide.
