constant dry lips, chapstick not working.?
I have had dry lips for months now and are sore. I have been drinking a lot more water than usual hoping it would help and also with the dry lips I feel thirstier than usual. I first thought of diabetes but I am eating healthier now than 2 years ago and I have lost quite a bit of weight so I don't understand how it could be that. I have never had problems with my blood sugar levels even though it has been a while since my last test. Does anyone have any other ideas that could be causing this.
I am 26 years old
I don't eat a lot of salt or processed foods and I don't drink coffee or energy drinks at all. And I very rarely drink other caffeinated drinks. And I can't drink anymore water than I already do coz I already drink around 3 litres a day.

Yes, you should not rule out the diabetes. It may still be present. You should have yourself checked for it too. You can try and use more natural things like cucumber or maybe there are lip balms that are quite medicated for dry lips that may help you too. Try and brows the cosmetic section of the store maybe you will be able to find it there.

Don't rule out diabetes just yet. Diabetes is not always caused by excessive weight. Depending on your age, it is possible to get late onset type 1 diabetes.
Try to up your water intake even more and lower your salt and caffeine intake, these two substances are diuretics and act to dehydrate your body.
If you still are experiencing these symptoms after you increased your daily fluid intake consult with a physician to make sure there is not a more serious underlying issue.

Try and use some natural things instead of chapstick. Aloe vera, cucumber, coconut oil, pertroleum jelly, and honey to name a few. Heres a few links
