Why are they trying to pass a gun bill to save lives?? Why don't they just make a law that.....?

Well, murder doesn't mean kill, you have to get that straight. Murder is unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. You can kill a person in self defense and that is legal, self defense. It's very unlikely that congress will pass a law that says you can't have guns because of one, the constitution (the second amendment) and two, self defense. I don't even know if I answered the question.

If people obeyed the laws then your idea would work but you know as well as l do that is nothing but a ream. People will kill people even if all the guns were removed from this world.

Criminals don't pay any attention to laws... If guns were ever banned than only the bad guys would have them..Criminals prefer unarmed victims!!

Having a gun will not help all the time but being defenseless will never help..

When seconds matter calling 911 and asking the bad guy to wait is not a viable option.

About 90% of the people who answered here....missed the point. We already have laws against killing...that criminals just ignore. More laws about guns won't stop them anymore than more laws against killing.

We do have laws against killing. But it's limited. A good example is the recent case of man, who hired an escort thinking that she'd have sex with him. When she refused, he shot her (later leading to her death) to get his money back. A jury of his peers, in Texas, agreed that he was within his rights to use deadly force (i.e., to kill) to get his money back. Texas law supports this.

So, you see, there are situations where it's perfectly legal to kill someone.

This question is obviously sarcastic. If murderers do not followthe law against murder, then why does congress think that criminals will follow the law about what weapons they can use?

maybe it would make more sense to make a law saying its legal to kill any gang banger or dope dealer on site. it would save a lot of wasted money on cops that don't do their jobs, court costs, feeding, medical care and guard costs, that would really raise the economy and lower the debt.

That is exactly what it will take a law that makes murder illegal.
