There isn't really a minimum age for ear piercing and I would recommend getting a babies ears pierced (boy or girl) as soon as possible. A lot of places will ask for immunisation records and have a minimum age, but if you shop around you might be lucky and find somewhere that will do it at any age. Maybe you could phone the places in the mall and ask what age they start ear piercing.

I waited 6 months with my eldest daughter and I wished I had done it earlier. It went so well though that I had her ears double pierced a couple of months later. With my twins (boy/girl), I was dreading waiting 4 months which was the earliest I could find to pierce them. Fortunately I found a place that would do it at any age, and I had their ears pierced when they were 3 days old. With my youngest daughter I didn't even wait that long before she had her ears pierced for the first time.

Since then I have had their ears pierced again because it is popular where we live for girls to have their ears pierced more than once at a young age but I found it much easier to hold them still for their ears to be pierced the younger they were. I think it looks so cute when you see a tiny baby with pierced ears, and would do the same if I had any more children.

It all really depends on each individual shop, but good luck in finding somewhere that will do them as soon as you want.

At least 6 month i assume

But as u will know there are risks of infections so just keep the piercings clean and wait till it heals (Some times the piercing can go inside the ear so watch out for that) so make sure it doesnt get inflamed with such a young child these things need to b noted i mean is if something goes wrong it can leave a scar

-if the earrings go in the ear make sure it gets took out asap by hospital

Also make sure the back of the ear ring doesnt go in either (if u leave it in over a certain amount of days it will heal its self but as the child grows older that will still b there- this can cause problems to get the ear re pierced)

Source(s): I have 13 piercings 2 gone wrong and my friends piercing went in the ear and u can still feel it (happened 4 year ago)

There are some people who think it is best to get girls 'done' as babies, in case they refuse to be pierced when younger. But even if your daughter refuses, while she might look ugly/ unfeminine to you because of it - she will not be repulsive to men, because of her un pierced years.

They are HER ears not yours. It must be bad enough for babies having to have injections to protect them, without having needles stuck in because of the parent's vanity. When she is old enough to ask for earrings and decide they are worth the pain, is time enough.

Source(s): I am happily married, and proud to be un-pierced.

Usually pediatricians pierce baby's ears, I've always heard the earliest is six months or later so the baby's ear cartridge is well developed

you can get them pierced whenever you want (I asked my doctor before doing my daughters and she told me that). I have known people that did it as early as 1 month old. My daughter was about 3-4 months when I got hers done. I just wanted to take precautions because my ears swell up, so I made sure that she only got pierced with real gold. One thing is that they need two people to do it, as the do both ears at the same time.

What are you crazy?? Why even consider piercing when the baby doesn't even know what earrings are? It doesn't matter to them.

And if you want them to look cute, well, they already do,

Any type of piercing carries risks of infection, which can be disastrous, especially to babies.

How can you even think like that?

My good friend got her identical twin girls ears pierced around 6-8 weeks old.

She went to a licensed piercer in our town and got them done. They healed easy and fast because the girls couldn't play with them.

I'd contact your local piercer and see what they recommend.

I believe most establishments want the baby to be at least 2 months old. But if you are going to do it that young, it's best to find a pediatrician to do it. If yours doesn't s/he may be able to recommend someone who does.

I say the sooner the better.. But consult with the bbs pediatrician first.. I think .. My opinion she's ready.. Back in jersey I had my daughters done right at the docs office.. That was back in the days.. Idk if docs still do.. But consult her doc and you'll feel more at ease with the docs advise!!
