Why has UKIP just lost it's deposit in the Aberdeen Scottish By Election?
The result saw the SNP win the seat with a clear majority and the hapless UKIP loose its deposit . Does Mr Farage now realise that his somewaht myopic and introverted metrocentrics have little relevance in the Scottish political scene .

No doubt Farage will come out with some sort idiotic excuse, he can't continue to be as delusional as hes been in recent weeks about his so called support in Scotland

Hmm, a majority SNP area
Given that SNP voters wants to join the EU and UKIP wants to get out of the EU why would you expect anything else for a majority held seat?
I love the irony though. The SNP wants to leave the UK in order to become independent but they also want to apply to become an EU member country and in so doing they'll become part of a Federal Union
I don't see how that gives them more independence given that at the moment 70% of UK laws come from Brussels and the next stage involves ceding sovereignty

It does seem UKIP is less than popular North of the border. ? I suppose UKIPs policies are of little interest to Scotland. Many are more interested in coming out of the UK than the EU.! And immigration is also so small its no problem to them. But its lost its deposit as it has not polled enough to keep it.

Nigel Farridge, and his UKPI if you must party, is not going anywhere fast. I know from long experience that the Scottish people are a canny lot, both in politics and money.
Let's just leave it like that for now.

It's publicity. Every time Farage tries to do something in Scotland, says something racist about Scottish people, et cetera, it's reported in the news. His base are also really quite xenophobic towards Scots, so I expect it keeps them onside, too. It's just PR running in the by-election... PR worth the deposit.

It's practically unheard of for two different separatist parties to pull similar amounts of votes in one community like Donside.
