What's your opinion on the actions taken by the NSA?

I personally believe that it was completely wrong. I think that at the first sign of trouble this country just dismisses all of it's "codes" or "laws" to take away what little freedom we have left. But what's your opinion on the whole situation?

Its very wrong to indiscriminately target civilians/citizens for espionage just because the fat cats of government(created corporations whose only job is to spy) have nothing to do.

The NSA have the impossible job of the surveillance and examination of trillions of different communications data, in the hope of finding clues which relate to a pending terrorist threat.

They have not taken any freedom away from you.

The NSA has not the time nor the inclination, to consider what porn you chose to watch, or what personal things you say to your boyfriend or girlfriend in an e-mail.

But if you chose to write something incriminating in e-mails, or on the internet, you are basically pretty dumb, because these can never be fully deleted. There will always be an electronic record of what you have done.

So if someone other than the NSA chose to spy on you without your knowledge, now or in the future, you have made life pretty simple for them and left yourself open to danger.

Of course, Al Qaeda knows this because they are not dumb.

So they have deliberately reduced communications, and now rely on pre-trained sleeper cells who can carry out smaller attacks in the future.

Our security organisations must continuously adapt to these changes, and we will always be lagging behind.

The war on terror cannot be won using military methods.

It is a propaganda war, and one which you are losing because your military cause far too many civilian casualties. You can never bomb people into changing their opinions, this will only harden them against you.

This is something your government and especially your military has yet to understand.

It is their mistakes which have become the greatest propaganda advert for the terrorists, and the reason why there are far more terrorists now than in 2001.

The biggest scandal of the Obama administration has not yet hit the news in the US.

That is the "cover up" of news concerning the civilian casualties caused by your drone attacks.

Not even journalists are exempt from persecution by your government if they report on such casualties. Many are now in prison in foreign countries, using trumpet up charges, after massive pressure from your government.

    And .....

The NSA will definitely not like what I have written here !

But the truth is the truth, it cannot be hidden forever. That is real freedom !

I think the Government can't "win"- on this Issue. If there are NO Major Terrorist Attacks for awhile, the NSA is going to be Blamed for "Too much Surveillance"- on the American people. And if the NSA cuts BACK on Their Surveillance Work- & there IS another Big Terrorist outbreak, WHO do You think is going to get the "Blame"- for not better Protecting the American People ??! :o We just can't Have It- BOTH Ways...

Source(s): We're Damned if we DO; & DEAD- if we Don't...
