Have We Crossed the Line with No Retreat Possible?

It certainly seems that our instant world-wide technological advances in communication & information gathering have eliminated any and all expectations of privacy – globally. We can't go backwards, so is there an answer, or are we all doomed to being the "open book" for all to read, along with the constant feed of mis-information?

    Just think before you post anything. Once on the Internet, it's out there for the whole world.

    Microsoft and the government deny it but it is widely believed that Windows contains a secret key that allows the government (and Microsoft) access to any hard drive. The idea comes from the fact that skilled programmers have taken Windows apart and there is a bit of code whose purpose is not clear.

    Other than finances, only the dishonest would be worried about this.

    Facebook has been using profiles for a long time to get info. to their advertisers about your interests.

    I think it's been advantagious to follow terrorist groups 'chatter'. There were several cases mentioned at the recent depositions on Capital Hill. (where criminal activity was stopped)
