Article writing tips?

I recently decided to try my hand at writing articles. Writing is something I really love doing, but the technical aspect of it all is eluding me. When creating an article for a first sample requested by a website, where on my computer should the article be written to make me look like I know what I'm doing? Do I create the article in Microsoft Office? Or is there an easier way to create writing samples and blogs? Please help, as I promised I would get this article to them in 3 days.

Update:

Thank you for asking...The title is: "Minecraft has a free demo". I have to use the title twice in the article, highlighted. No flowery words, with facts, tips and how-to's. This is my very first attempt and I'm nervous as hell, don't really know what I'm doing, but I KNOW I can do this. Should I add an image? It has to be 500 words long.

    You can use Microsoft Word.

if they didn't specify any font or page setup etc. etc. you can choose your own.

the medium isn't really that important. you're a writer, it's the content that counts.

.. not sure about "easier" ways. Word is pretty easy enough to use. - but then again, you might not like the fact you have to send them the Doc file, if that's the case you can make the article a blog and send them the link.

Did they specify a specific title? what are you making an article of?
