Lots of small green tomatoes?

I have lots of small green tomatoes. What kind of fertilizer should I feed them now? I would like them to grow larger before the turn red.

Before amending your soil have a soil test done through your county extension office. It is a lab test that will tell you the existing pH and nutrient levels of your soil and recommend exactly what and how much to use to get the desired levels in your garden. Amending soil without knowing the starting point is an exercise in futility and can do more harm than good. Trust Mother Nature. Your tomatoes will grow before ripening.

    Good luck

Any old tomato/vegetable fertilizer, as always. A high phosphorous blend is best, especially for fruiting. I'd suggest an organic fertilizer one for micronutrients and to not damage the pest repelling soil micro-organisms, but any fertilizer would help it grow. If you haven't already added some dolomite (agricultural lime), then give each plant a couple cups for calcium to prevent blossom end rot in the tomatoes. Also has magnesium, which tomatoes like. This is less essential in clay soils which might already have plenty of calcium and other minerals.

Well you can trim back some of the vines. Larger tomatoes but fewer as they grow. Hand pull all the weeds around them. Add a little be carefull here[ little!] plant food and fertilizer. to the top soil and work it in about a 1/4 inch with a hand rake after pulling all weeds. mulch, Then water if the rain stops there.

Basic tomato feed .It is branded for tomatos .Keep the plants on the dry side but give regular water so the skins don't split .Deprive of water for a day or two before you pick them & you will get a better flavour.Enjoy x.

Don't do anything, just let them grow. If you start screwing around you may wind up with nothing. I see 2 things on this forum, people who love to throw hundreds of gallons of water on plants and people who love to throw hundreds of pounds of fertilizer on plants. I am here to say that plants grow without all that bother and produce plants and produce of excellent abundance. If you must - add one tbsp of 5-10-10 per plant in mid summer. I always forget and get many tomatoes anyway.

perhaps their type is just small, some species are naturally small & others are big - give them some time perhaps they will grow larger.
