$ is used for a lot of currencies, some you could live well with, some you would have a hard time surviving.

I do not know if your salary will continue during your stay in Thailand, or this is what was offered to you for your employment in Thailand, with a work visa.

Do not know what problems you will have with the visas during the year that you are asking about.

Do not know how you will be accessing your money, but I would use an ATM card, and I would let my bank know that I was in Thailand for a year.

In other words, your question is not complete.

That'd be a very comfortable salary for many Thai families and the majority get by on a tiny fraction of that. Break down your salary and get an idea of how much your net monthly income may be so you can get an idea of how much you can afford on accommodation, food, transportation, etc then get a feel for the lifestyle you might be able to maintain.

This should give a a rough idea of Bangkok prices: http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/city_result.j...

if you want to live a western lifestyle, then simple - it'll cost up to 5 times more than if you lived Thai style in a basic apartment, ate Thai food, refrained from partying at touristic places, etc.

Great salary for Thailand and should be plenty but all depends on your style.

Find somewhere that has easy access to Sky train or BTS - you should be able to get something decent between 8-10,000 Baht a month.

Speak with your employers who have the local knowledge to help you get the accommodation you want .

Enjoy Bangkok , go out with the locals and you will have a wonderful experience

Yes, you can live a very comfortable lifestyle. I live in Bangkok; I make more than that now, but that is about how much I made when I first arrived, and it is very easy to live a lifestyle much better than your home country - travel, most places have pools, you can have a full or part time maid.

You could but you have to cut back on the drinking, smoking, chasing skirts every night. Eat at Thai food stands, get a cheap studio apartment with fan only and you should squeeze by.

If you know how to manage your finances well, then yes, that is more than enough to help you get by and live comfortably.

Yes, you can. Just avoid fancy restaurants and cut down on your other silly stuff. You will be doing fine.
