Gun Control Advocates, since you want to ban AR15s...?

... because they were "designed for the battlefield", can you name any firearm designs not developed for the battlefield?

    The AR-15 was NEVER designed for the Battlefield, it was specifically designed for sporting purposes. But to be more specific, almost every handgun on the planet was NOT designed for the battlefield. Shotguns weren't designed for the battlefield either!

    Actually the M16 was designed for the battlefield, the AR15 was designed for sport and hunting. While the largest advancements to modern hunting and sporting firearms has come from military weaponry advancements, very few actual military firearms have made it to civilian use. That is current military firearms as ones like the M1 and Enfields etc, after being released from service have been owned by civilians and are technically no longer considered military grade firearms.

    Oh and for the person remarking about the fowling piece not originally being a military firearm, Technically you are wrong as the blunderbuss was used for ship to ship battles then converted to the hunting application.

    Yea.

    US Supreme Court ruled that sawed off shotguns were not military weapons. So therefore not covered under the 2nd amendment.

    But on a lighter note,

    darned near every "sporting rifle" descended from military weapons.

    As for "gun control" advocates, they should learn from history that their perspective is wrong.

    The West was won on beef, beans and the Colt .45.

    What part of the 2nd amendment don't they understand? What, the pinkos don't get it that the Citizens have to be as well armed as the government? They didn't read the Declaration of Independence?

    What, the Libs never read a book? Our Founding Fathers clearly and unmistakably stated that the 2nd amendment was not about sports or hunting but about why We The People must have the tools necessary to put down an oppressive government.

    If the Jews had had access to weapons in 1933~would they all still have been put to death? If you think for one minute that this new Hitler by the name of obama, isn't out to make you his slave or you die, would you still want gun control like hitler did to his people. That was the first thing he did, take the peoples weapons away. They couldn't fight against him. Next was the press, Hitler controlled it, and then he went after the freedom to speak out against him. Sound familiar?

    Ever heard of a fowling piece? No, of course you haven't. And of course, you'll pretend it really was developed for battle because some silly son of a beast sawed the barrel short and loaded it with buckshot.

    No gun control advocate wants to ban weapons.

    And yes, I can name some actually-

    Hunting rifles, especially early ones were not designed for battle, but for hunting.

    And there are also very compact revolvers/pistols that would not be fit for any sort of Military action.
