Tips for getting blood drawn?
So I have to have my blood drawn for a testing. I was recently put on anti depressant pills and they just want to take a blood test to make sure the depression isn't caused by a thyroid problem or etc.
I know I'm not supposed to have anything to eat or drink (besides water) for 10 - 12 hours prior
what are some other things to keep in mind?
I'm really scared, because I have a phobia of veins. They gave me a one time pill that should make me care less.
Is there anything else I should remember? This is my first time having blood drawn

First of all...best thing to do is not to look. Look away and concentrate on something else other than the blood being drawn.
Secondly it is going to sting a bit. Won't lie, it does. But the sensation is quick and the process is over in less than 5 minutes. Even quicker if you have good, easy to hit veins.
Lastly...relax. The more you think about it, the more you stress about it. Just take your pill, look away (bring a book you can read one handed) and just let them do their job.

It takes seconds. Sit there and close your eyes, don't look. Have you ever had vaccinations ? it is less uncomfortable than those.
