any thoughts on Polaris and the new Indian Chief?

personally after all the attempts to bring back Indian I think they should just let it die already. I do however really like the Kiwi Indian as it is a very good copy of the original and for those of us not able to get a 1951 Chief close enough!

Considering everyone else that tried to resurrect the Indian was using S&S engines, and didn't have a good business plan I can see why they failed. Polaris is also the owner of Victory motorcycles, which people never thought would last and they have been growing for over 10 years. I think Indian may have a good chance now. I love the new Indian engine design, only time will tell if it will last.

I hope they make it. Several attempts maybe this will stick. I pineapple motor was a complete failure rite out of the gate. This new motor: looks like a flat head had sex with a twin cam. I've riden a chief with the S&S motor. It was ok. I'm not against them, but I'm not going to root for them either. All I can say, good luck.

First thought is that it won't have enough sales support to stay afloat.

But if they did like Triumph and BMW did, redesign a fleet of sellable models with a marquee name and still make a 'classic' looking bike, than maybe.
