How to get good with computers?

I'm going into he 8th grade, and as an elective I've chosen Art and Computers. How can I get more familiar with it? Such as downloading, files, C++, etc.

I want to get into college with a knowledge in computers, which will help me with getting several dream jobs.

    So, you want to get an education, before you get the education?

    Try "Google" for each subject. Read, read read, then practice, practice, practice on old computers.
