What to do for my dogs dry eye problem?

I should take her to the vet, but my $ is short. I put eye drops in her eye. The artificial tears. What else can I do?

    Call your vet and explain the situation, they may be able to prescribe some eye drops without having to come in for an appt.

    Don't use human eye drops without asking your vet.

    Try giving your dog some Benadryl, 1mg/pound as this may be an allergy problem.

    Eye drops 3 - times daily with an antibiotic ointment
