I refuse to believe in God?

I'm atheist..or was..I don't know anymore. I denied God's existence for around 10 years. Today I went to the Church but when I was there I felt horrible, like running away. I couldn't even stand coz my leg shaked and when the priest touched my head I felt someday terrible was inside me. While I was listening to him, part of me was telling me to leave the place, what was I doing there? That wasn't my place, I was wasting time, and I shouldnt to him. yet I stayed until the end but feeling some kinda horrible pain inside me. I really want to quit atheism and start believing but part of me tells me not to. I can't believe in God or I feel I shouldn't go to the church anymore. What is this? Is this guilt? :(

Indeed there's something terrible inside you. Inside everyone, in fact. Acknowledging its presence is the first step.

Atheism is the delusion that human beings are self-sufficient, that they can go on through their lives without ever realizing what's wrong with them, without realizing that they all have a purpose in life.

Don't run away. Confront your fears. Defeat your enemy.

She wants you to keep listening to her. She wants you to keep denying God. She wants you to stay living your lie, because she's comfortable with it. She wants you to never question your life. She wants you to keep walking through the easy, wide road. Even though that road leads to your destruction.

I hope that someday you can realize who is your worst enemy. I hope that someday you can feel the embrace of God.

I don't know what is going on with you, and I won't pretend I do.

However, I must say that nobody is ever turned away from God's table.

You stayed away for ten years, but as soon as you come back, it's all good, because the fact is, God would never admit that you were gone. God will not (not usually, anyway) chase after you and drag you back, but there will always be a place for you. You may have done some bad things in your eyes, but that is not an issue for God, who knows you and understands exactly what is going on with you, loves you totally , and is always willing to take you back.

The only way primitive religion exists today is through the child abuse of forcing it into very, very young children but thanks to better education and growing intellects so many teens are able to discover the truth, throw off the indoctrination and step into the real world!

Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child's acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.

They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!

Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!

Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.

Sadly Christians, muslims and others are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!

I seem to think that this is Satan telling you that things are all wrong. God obviously helped you to even go to church. I suggest you start reading the New Testament and realize how much God loves you. Read the book of John.

There is an enemy of the soul and he is pretty smart about making it look like your mind is the originator of those negative thoughts about being in church. He knows that the truth can set you free.

Anyway, I want to recommend a church that is strong in plain Bible teaching. Find an independent Baptist church near you and they should be able to help in many ways.

Also, if you want plain Bible answers to many of your spiritual questions, follow the links below.

You were probably tired of being there. I am an atheist but still attended church just because of my family and I only rolled my eyes and never felt anything bad. So i would suggest you go to a doctor.

"I refuse to believe in God?"

As an atheist I don't actually refuse to believe in the imaginary space man...

I'm waiting for him to convince me he exists...

Cos if he existed he'd know how to do that, huh?

"He is just so pathetic... he doesn't even have the ability to convince me he exists.

Obviously he's just a coward... what other explanation could there possibly be ;) ?"

"If that retarded space psychopath was not able figure out a way to convince me over the last 66 years that he exists then he is not worth groveling to...

Screw him and the horse he rode up on... ;)"

Strange, most atheists do not "deny God;s existence" - that is a Christian or theist phrase - most atheists lack belief in any and all gods.

I suspect that you are nothing more than a rebellious Christian who has confused their rebellion with atheism. It should be pointed out that this is just another form of lying for Jesus.

My 2 greatest motives for atheism are related to no longer the life of God in any respect yet to my rejection of religion and spiritual books. initially, people believe in one faith or yet another greater often than not by way of fact of their friends' ideals. perception in faith is very almost continually initially passive (you suspect by way of fact others instructed you it became authentic). the main severe element is to determine it out for your self - question why people believe what they do: people who do no longer believe, people who believe in yet otherwise. decide on with your guy or woman innovations and don't in basic terms fall in with the team. whether there's a God, i do no longer choose to affix to a faith which dictates all varieties of arbitrary stuff from the donning of condoms to which day of the week I shouldn't artwork. i will believe what i decide directly to believe. Secondly, the Bible is taken care of the way it fairly is by way of fact of years of reverence, yet in actuality it fairly is stuffed with inconsistencies, and its books have been chosen (voted in) by people, which ability that some texts did no longer make the shrink. If it have been the different historic text textile, those could be seen as indicators of a fallible record, however the Bible isn't taken care of as such - people clarify away inconsistencies or uncomfortable passages as metaphors or hidden meanings the place they're only inconsistencies. finally - we don't disbelieve by way of fact we've something to earnings. We disbelieve by way of fact... nicely... we've concept approximately it and we made an assessment on the inspiration of the info. And there fairly is not greater evidence for creation than evolution.
